We built Flying Donut because agile work should be simpler, clearer, and more collaborative
Flying Donut started from a practical problem: distributed teams needed a better way to plan, collaborate, and deliver work without getting buried under process or heavyweight tools.
How Flying Donut began
At the time the idea for Flying Donut was born, we were working in a fast-growing multinational organisation that needed the transparent, effective collaboration style of a successful startup.
The worldwide distribution of teams made this difficult. We needed a way to stay aligned across backlog planning, sprint work, and daily execution without relying on fragmented communication or overly complicated tooling.
Unable to find an agile tool that ticked all the necessary boxes, we decided to build our own.
As we solved our own collaboration and communication problems, we realised the same issues were affecting many other organisations as well. Flying Donut grew from that experience: a practical product shaped by real delivery work.
What we believe
- Agile tools should help teams move faster, not create more process overhead
- Collaboration should stay clear for remote, distributed, and co-located teams alike
- Planning and delivery should stay connected rather than living in separate systems
- Powerful software can still feel simple and focused
- AI should support real work with clarity and control, not hype
Who we build for
- Product and engineering teams
- Startups and growing software companies
- Agencies and consultancies managing client delivery
- Cross-functional teams that need a lightweight agile workflow
- Teams working across locations, time zones, or disciplines
